In most of sci-fi Holywood movie about dystopian world, it is typical to see flying cars, electric vehicle or cars that ride by them self. With a huge progress of nowadays science and technology, that dream is within our reach in the near future. ..well, not the flying cars.

US government and some private bodies initiate this research to find autonomous technology decades ago. It appears they are getting closer to make it come true. The next question will be, will it impact to how automotive business running? How the stake holders deals with it.

Key findings

  • Consumer acceptance of fully autonomous vehicles is on the rise. In the United States, 47 percent of consumers feel autonomous vehicles will not be safe, compared to 74 percent in 2017.
  • Chinese consumers appear most interested in vehicles with alternative powertrains; 61 percent would prefer a vehicle with a hybrid or some other form of alternative powertrain technology in their next vehicle.
  • More than three-quarters of consumers in India would prefer to buy their next vehicle online directly from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
